If the built-in attachment process didn't work for you, you may transfer files to RespMech using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). You must have FTP software on your machine in order to do this. Please note that some companies use an Internet Service Provider (i.e.: MSN, AOL, CompuServe, etc.) to provide access to the internet, while other companies use an internal proxy server to access the internet. Those companies with proxy servers may have a different method (than shown below) for accessing FTP sites on the internet and you should consult with your company’s systems administrator to determine this method.
Connect to the RespMech FTP server (ftp.respmech.com) and log in with a user name of anonymous
and the password being your e-mail address. Below is how to
perform this process if you use an Internet Service Provider and your FTP program is DOS based. However, if your
company’s internet access method is via a
proxy server, you may have to consult with your company’s systems administrator to determine this method.
A. Connect to the RespMech FTP server from a DOS prompt with this command: ftp ftp.respmech.comNot all FTP systems support the use of "friendly names".If your system does not recognize names, you can use the IP address: 63.103.19.197 instead of ftp.respmech.com. B. At this point you will see a command prompt similar to ftp>.You can then logon to the site with: ftp> user:anonymous ftp> password:<your e-mail address> Once you have logged on, copy your file to the server using the following commands. These commands will be the same regardless of how you obtain access to the internet.
NOTE: Files placed within user created subdirectories cannot be transported to RespMech support professionals. ftp> cd /transfer ftp> cd incoming/webresp ftp> binary ftp> put myfile.zip ftp> quit |
